The Rea Cheveyo Chronicles: Kiana by Rayne Forrest/KC Kendricks

 THE REA CHEVEYO CHRONICLES: KIANA
Book One of the chronicles

The story begins…

Captain Ian Logan of Terra commands one of the most powerful starships ever built, the Rea Cheveyo. As the captain of the flagship of the League of Aligned Worlds, Ian has the authority and the latitude to get things done. When the Adonican mystic, Kiana ni Jamallan, maneuvers her way onto his ship, Ian is caught in her spell.

Kiana knows her superiors are corrupt. She needs Ian’s help to get the proof. When the crew of ship vanishes without a trace, Kiana and Ian race against time to uncover the truth behind the ghost ship - a truth that threatens to separate them forever behind Adonica’s wall of secrecy.

Knowing Ian, or any offworlder, is against everything Kiana has been taught. She has a destiny, one she must fulfill, and it doesn’t include taking a human lover. But rules are made to be broken. Kiana won’t walk away from Ian, and the passion found in his arms. Stepping into her destiny is both her freedom, and the only way back to Ian.

INTRO

Kiana took a short, sharp breath and pursed her pink lips in aggravation. “I am the Adjutant here.”

Ian wondered what she’d done to be given that position. There weren't more than fifteen Adonicans in permanent residence on Jericho Bruis. They hardly needed the long arm of Adonican law.

God, she was a pretty little thing.

He pushed that thought away before he did something unforgivable like smile at her.

“Please allow me to extend my apologies for the behavior of my crewman.” Ian glanced at Heath. “If you wish, I will bring Lieutenant Parker to your office, and he will apologize.”

The Adjutant glared at him. “Thy apology is accepted. But in the future, thee will instruct thy personnel to avoid coming under my notice.” Her gaze swept Ian from head to toe. His skin flushed hot in its wake.

“Thee are arrogant. All of thee humans are.” She sneered. “I once believed us to be brothers and sisters, all children of Cromas. Now that I see thee up close, I know my mistake.”

Pretty or not, Ian was at the end of his patience. He disliked being called arrogant, perhaps because it had the sting of being somewhat true upon occasion.

“I know little of Cromas, being uneducated and ignorant as well as arrogant. Perhaps thee would have time to enlighten me.”

“Now thee mock me. What else should I expect from such as thee? Enlightenment is wasted on many.”

She turned on her heel and reached the door in three long strides. She stopped and looked back at Graham.

“I regret to inform thee that Prefect Eilis ni Vashin has declined thy request to allow a ship to land at the spaceport of Fiv. Thee may, however, transfer cargo to a barge at Station Harit. I am sorry, Colonel Dayshaun, but I warned thee.”

“Yes, you did. Nonetheless, I appreciate your efforts with your government.” Graham sounded politely disappointed.

The woman nodded to him and disappeared through the door.

“What a little spitfire,” Heath muttered. Ian turned and glared at him.

“Post the word, Mr. Douglas. We know the Adonicans are xenophobic. They don’t wish to be involved with us, and we will respect their wishes.” Ian looked at Graham. “Did she really call us toads?”

Graham nodded. “She’s in a good mood today.”

EXCERPT

His hands started to work her nightshirt up to her hips and she swatted at him. He yanked the garment over her head. She grabbed at it but he tossed it to the foot of the bed.

“Thee is not resting, Ian Logan.” And she was glad. His hand was warm on her hip, soothing and arousing at once. “Thee needs restoring.”

“Thee can restore me, Kiana ni Jamallan.” His fingers teased the dark cleft between her buttocks on their path to her heat. He brushed against her from behind and she clamped her thighs tightly closed.

“Thee can kiss me, then thee can sleep.”

“Oh, I’ll sleep, all right. But you can kiss me, woman.”

“Impertinent male.” Kiana stretched up to kiss him.

At the first touch of his lips, Kiana’s resistance faded. She sighed deeply into his mouth and his arms tightened around her. They settled closer. Kiana ached, deep inside, as his cock pressed against her belly.

They kissed for long moments, unhurried, yet unrestrained. Passion beckoned, but tenderness ruled. Fingertips moved slowly over flesh, reveling in the softness of skin or the texture of hair, the ridge of muscle or the swell of a breast.

Ian’s mouth worked its way down her neck and Kiana sighed again, arching her back and pressing her breasts against the hardness of his chest. His lips traveled across her collarbone and further still. He gently suckled her nipple and she flooded wet for him.

He seemed to know and stroked the back of her thigh. Her knee slid up to rest on his hip. Quick, gentle fingers found her, softly brushing damp curls and teasing at sensitive flesh.

Kiana caressed Ian’s chest, lightly drawing her fingertips over each rib. He sucked in a breath as she ran one finger down the length of his erection. She carefully lifted the weight of his balls, feeling them roll in her hands. Ian slipped a finger into her. Her body clenched around it.

Ian ordered the lighting in the cabin completely off. The room darkened, bringing a wonderful sense of isolation about them. Kiana was freed by it. No one could see. No one watched.

“Roll over, love.” Ian’s voice was soft in her ear, his lips nibbling at her lobe.

Kiana rolled onto her stomach and stretched, catlike. Ian ran the heel of his palm firmly along her spine.

“Would you like a massage?” he asked, his fingers working the base of her skull. “It’s not what I had in mind, but it’ll work.”

“It is very pleasant.” She made small, breathy noises as he ran his tongue down her back, stopping at her tailbone.

“You have such cute little dimples,” he murmured, kissing each one. “You’re very beautiful, love.” He rose above her, straddling her hips. His strong fingers kneaded her shoulders. She moaned in delight.

“Thee have vision deficiencies? This can be corrected.” Kiana felt beautiful under his touch, but she knew she was not. Many women were lovelier than she.

“My vision is excellent.” His thumbs pressed along the sides of her backbone. She moaned louder and longer. “Keep making that sound. It drives me crazy.”

Kiana laughed and wiggled her bottom. It seemed the natural thing to do with his essential maleness lying full and heavy on it. She had the sudden vision of Ian taking her from behind. Her heart slammed in her chest. The air left her lungs.

She lifted her bottom to him, a subtle upward pressure. She heard him suck air through his teeth. Strong hands grasped her hips with bruising firmness, bringing her to her knees. She was already wet and his hard flesh slipped across her. She tipped her hips, jerking in surprise as his shaft was suddenly buried deep inside her. Ian thrust against her once, then again.

“Thee gives me little warning!”

Ian stilled and kissed between her shoulder blades. His weight was warm and heavy on her. She reveled in the wonderful sense of fullness as her body clenched and released his penis, adjusting to his penetration.

“Here’s your warning, love.” He nibbled along her side and she jerked and shivered as his teeth teased a ticklish spot. He slowly withdrew and sank back into her.

“This position does things to me. Thank God it’s dark and I can’t watch.”

Watch? She carefully touched his mind and his vision of him sliding in and out of her filled her senses.

Thank Cromas she couldn’t watch.
