Desert Snow - a new cover

 October 6, 2020

One of the things that has been on my To-Do List seemingly forever has been a new cover for Desert Snow. That's another book that never did have a good cover. Now I think I've finally hit on one that's a keeper. Yes, the guy's jeans fade into the party background, but it's okay. I like it, and I hope you do, too.

Here's the new cover for Desert Snow, once again available at the usual third-party vendors.

Enjoy the excerpt!

Contemporary gay romance

Laird Bennett accepts a friend’s invitation for a vacation with his eyes wide open. His buddy is pimping for him - in a sneaky sort of way. Why else set up his business meeting in Palm Springs the week of the annual White Party and ask Laird to go along? Laird goes with every intention of enjoying the eye candy, the weather, and behaving himself. Those plans change his first night out while waiting to cross the street and a younger man in white leather greets him.

Haydn Rinehart is at a crossroads. His pilgrimage to the White Party is to honor a promise made to his late partner before moving into the next phase of his life. Haydn strikes up a conversation with an attractive party-goer while waiting for a traffic light to change and invites him for a drink. When he discovers Laird is one of his favorite authors, Haydn volunteers to assist in some hands-on research in his hotel room. After all, they are at the White Party and some fun is in order.

It doesn’t take long for Laird to realize he has something special in Haydn but they live on different coasts. He says goodbye and goes home. Lucky for him, Haydn won’t let him go that easily.

A updated cover for Desert Snow

**updated March 29, 2021**

November 12, 2017

The adventure in Photoshop continues!

One of the cool perks of making my own covers is the ability to create a new cover when the original cover begins to annoy me for some reason.

Or I get sucked into reading some article that says two characters on a cover are more effective than one, which is what happened here. Whatever, eh?

I do confess to cheating a bit. I had the cover stock for both these guys in the files. I like the guy in white - what else would someone at a White Party wear? The other man? Let's pretend his shirt is white and he's just standing in a shadow.

The plan was to go back through the blog and update the previous cover on all the posts but I don't think that's going to happen. The most recent ones about Desert Snow are updated and I'm going to let it go with that instead of driving myself crazy. I've done enough of that lately.

Desert Snow - KC Kendricks -

November 15, 2014
**Updated 4/2/21 - the My Sexy Saturday blog hop had been discontinued.**

Welcome to Saturday and the My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop! With the weather here on the east coast turning the corner towards winter, I'm thinking about warmer climes.

Here are seven sexy paragraphs from Desert Snow for today's My Sexy Saturday. Was I really thinking about snow? Nope. I was thinking the white party and all the guys dressed in white, each unique as snowflakes. (It made really good sense a the time!) Enjoy!

Annoyance surged through me and crystallized how I felt about having some fun with Haydn. I gave him a nudge to move him sideways so we could bypass the line.

“Sorry, big fella. This one is all mine tonight.”

Haydn froze and shot me a surprised look. “Really?”

“Yeah. Really. C’mon. Start walking.” I slipped my arm around his waist to propel him forward. He balked.

“Wait a sec.” He fished around in his pocket and pulled out the wad of slips with names and numbers on it. With the mangled mess came a crumpled dollar bill. Haydn handed the entire fistful of paper to the guy in line. “You can have these. Keep the change.”

There was general laughter from those paying attention to our conversation as the guy grabbed Haydn and planted a sloppy kiss on his lips. I grinned and clapped with everyone else, but I’d just as soon yanked Haydn out of the guy’s clutches, then smacked the dude for trying to jump my claim.

Fun. It was all in fun. Every man here was at the White Party—heavy on the party.

My Sexy Saturday - Desert Snow by KC Kendricks

September 21, 2013
**updated 4/2/21 - The My Sexy Saturday blog hop is no longer operating**

Welcome to the My Sexy Saturday blog hop! I'd like to thank everyone for the warm welcome last Saturday. I'm looking forward to making my way around to everyone's blog and Twitter feeds. (Follow the #mysexysaturday on Twitter.)

My Sexy Saturday is easy. Each author selects seven words, sentences or paragraphs from one of his/her books, and posts it on Saturday morning. Then everyone can hop around the blogs and check them out.

This week I've chosen seven sentences from Desert Snow. Enjoy!

His gaze flicked to my lips as I licked the tart drops.
“I wouldn’t want to come across as easy.”

His left eyebrow lifted. “Not a word I’d use to describe my take on you. I think I’ll get a few more drinks into you and see if you’re more agreeable to some fun.”

I grinned at him. “You give a guy my age too many drinks and the only fun you’ll get will be listening to him snore.”

New! Desert Snow this Six Sentence Sunday

January 6, 2012

This Six Sentence Sunday I'm showcasing my new release, Desert Snow. How new is it? It's new today!

Is it about snow? Heck no! It's about an unexpected meeting at the Palm Springs White Party! I wrote a line where our hero compares all the men in white to snowflakes - each unique and beautiful - and I knew Desert Snow was the title.

So here's a six sentence tease, and a link here to read the full excerpt and view the purchase links.
